Early in my career as a psychologist, I realized my clients needed something beyond their once-or-twice weekly visits to my office.

Even when a session went well, many clients would struggle to remember and practice what they’d learned once they walked out my door and back to their everyday lives.

They would return having made little progress and we’d spend much of our session reviewing instead of progressing treatment.

To address the problem, I started creating evidenced-based worksheets and treatment protocols to help my clients retain what they’d learned and keep moving forward between sessions.

The idea was so successful that I set out to find a way to share these resources with the larger community of therapists and clients in need— and that’s when New Harbinger Publications was born.

The result of that endeavor is a fifty-plus-year tradition of publishing evidence-based self-help and professional books developed with the highest editorial standards.

In keeping with this tradition, our mission at TherapyAssist is to make powerful tools and resources from New Harbinger’s vast library easily accessible to more therapists and clients than ever before—and in doing so, change more lives than ever before.
